Oil and coal production down in Uzbekistan
Production rates, as of January-August 2018, in the mining industry and other major industrial enterprises, were announced, the State Statistics Committee reports.
It is stated that coal and oil production in the mining industry decreased significantly in the first 8 months of 2018 compared to the same period last year. To be more precise, coal production in 2017 amounted to 2664.8 thousand tons, while this year only 2392.9 thousand tons of coal were produced. Thus, the growth rate is estimated at 89.8 %. Oil production rate, in the meantime, decreased by 9.9 %, which shows 55.1 thousand tons cutback compared to 2017.
Unlike the other two major products of the mining industry, natural gas production increased by 6.8% and gas condensate by 14.3%.
The volume of production in the mining industry in January-August 2018 amounted to 21.6 trillion sums, which is 16.6 % of the total industrial output.
