The Press and Information Agency of Uzbekistan is instigating a new project on the establishment of a single interactive information system to coordinate the activities of publishing and printing companies.
The main purpose of this project is to simplify the registry system of publishing houses and to create an interactive database of reports provided by publishing centers.
Additional monitoring and control mechanisms will be created through the use of modern information technologies. The system will also serve to prevent production of counterfeit books, detect illegal businesses, collect and analyze data.
