Uzbekistan, Belgium analysts to cooperate

Delegation of Uzbekistan, including representatives of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies, the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations and the Development Strategy Center visited Belgium on Sept. 24-25, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
Numerous high-level meetings were held within the framework of the visit with experts of the European Union in the European Parliament, the South Asia Democratic Forum, the Euro continent Analytical Center, the European Institute for Asian Studies in Belgium and others.
During the meeting and negotiations the European side became acquainted with the main results of the reforms that outlined in the Strategy of Actions for the development of the Republic of Uzbekistan along five priority areas in 2017-2021, the tourism and economic potential of Uzbekistan and the new foreign policy directions of Uzbekistan in the region.
The European Institute for Asian Studies and the European Parliament held roundtable discussions on new trends in Uzbekistan’s domestic and foreign policies, as well as on priority areas for bilateral cooperation with the EU.
On Monday Sept. 24, Memorandums of cooperation between the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations and the Belgian analytical centers South Asia Democratic Forum and Euro continent were signed.
