Visa-free regime comes into force for citizens of France
In accordance with the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan (No. 5551) dated Oct. 4, 2018, a visa-free regime (for 30 days) has come into force for citizens of France starting from Oct. 5, Kun.uz correspondent reports with reference to the press service of the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan.
Primary aim of the initiative is to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and France in the fields of culture, science and education, and to create favorable conditions for the development of bilateral relations. This, in turn, will have a positive impact on the country's investment climate and tourism potential.
It should be noted that the number of tourists coming to Uzbekistan from France is increasing year by year. For instance, if in 2016 4,889 tourists visited our country, this number reached to 5,748 in 2017. In the first 8 months of the current year 9,172 French travelers visited Uzbekistan to admire its wonders.
Furthermore, persistent work is being carried out to attract French tourist companies to international tourism fairs in Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of several cultural programs, representatives of more than 200 French travel agencies visited Uzbekistan recently. This gave an incentive to French printing houses to publish a number of articles about Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural heritage, as well as its tourism potential.
