Uzbekistan tops the list of international students in Russian education institutions

“Rossotrudnichestvo” has announced the list of countries with top applications submitted to study in Russian education institutions.
In the 2018/2019 academic year, Uzbekistan topped the list with 7225 applicants willing to pursue education in the Russian Federation. The second and third places were taken by Tajikistan (6263) and Afghanistan (5134) respectively. Algeria, preceded by Kazakhstan, concluded the list of top 5.
Overall, 88,906 applications were submitted by foreign nationals to study in Russian education institutions in the 2018/19 academic year. 15,000 international students will be granted full tuition waivers.
