New Prosecutor of Tashkent region appointed following the former prosecutor’s resignation
Acting Prosecutor of Tashkent region Shavkat Turakulovich Rakhmatov left his post. He voluntarily applied for resignation, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
In July 2018, Shavkat Rakhmatov was appointed an acting prosecutor of Tashkent Region. He replaced Bakhodir Bakhtiyorovich Pulatov, who worked as regional prosecutor in January-July 2018 and later became the governor of Surkhandarya region. Prior to this, Mr. Rakhmatov worked as Mr. Pulatov's assistant.
It should be noted that Mr. Rakhmatov was the fourth prosecutor of Tashkent region in the last 12 months.
The regional prosecutor Jamshid Fayziev was fired along with the governor of Tashkent region, Shukrullo Boboyev, for the falsification of cotton harvesting notes in the end of October 2017. Later on Jamshid Fayziev was arrested in the criminal case related to the former Prosecutor General Rashid Kadyrov.
Ulughbek Jalilovich Sunnatov, who replaced him, worked until January 2018. Ulughbek Sunnatov, was also detained at the end of February in the case of Kadyrov relatively.
For information, from now onwards, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Salam Samadov serves as the prosecutor of the region.
