On the night of October 14-15, in Yakimanka municipal district, the center of Moscow, a monument to the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov appeared, Asia-Plus reports with reference to Andrei Morev, Council of Deputies of Yakimanka District.
The creator of the 2.3 meters high monument is one of the most prominent British sculptors Paul Day.
It was noted that the construction of the monument was paid by the Islam Karimov Foundation, led by Lola Karimova-Tillayeva, daughter of the first President of Uzbekistan.
It should be reminded that in early February this year the Moscow court cancelled the referendum on the installation of a monument to Islam Karimov.
