"Afrosiyob" express train to increase the fare from November 1

The JSC “Uzbekistan Railways” has officially confirmed the upcoming increase of ticket prices for high-speed trains “Afrosiyob”.
"To ensure competitiveness, reliability and long-term investments, we inform that from November 1, 2018, the cost of tickets to Afrosiyob high-class trains will be increased. This is a necessary measure to cover all the costs of electricity, raw materials, spare parts and wages for service personnel," the company said.
This price adjustment, according to Uzbekistan Railways, will allow to save the number of existing routes and bring the profitability of passenger transportation to socially significant destinations.
It is interesting that the company did not disclose the exact amount of the planned increase. Some sources say that it will be around 10-12%.
It should be noted that domestic railway employees have been exploiting the trains and carriages manufactured by the Spanish company Talgo for more than six years. They were named in honor of the ancient city Afrosiyob, and serve passengers on the Tashkent - Bukhara, Tashkent - Samarkand, Tashkent - Shakhrisabz routes. To date, there are four compositions of "Afrosiyob" in the railway park.
It should be noted that the JSC “Uzbekistan Railways” has four high-speed “Afrosiyob” trains in its railway park.
Now the company is negotiating with the South Korean Hyundai and the Spanish Talgo for the purchase of new high-speed trains.
