Consulate General of Uzbekistan to be opened in Rostov-Don
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan will be opened in Rostov-on-Don soon, Vasily Golubyev, the Governor of the Rostov Region said during the first Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia.
“This will be a new stimulus for the development of our mutually beneficial cooperation. We also intend to build a joint wholesale distribution center in the Rostov region. A land plot is already allocated for this, the total project cost will be approximately 19,2 billion rubles. Today, agreements will be signed on the supply of vehicle sets of Russian enterprises to Uzbekistan," Mr. Golubyev said.
The order to open it was signed by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev last December.
This decision will put ahead the increase of efficiency and quality of consular services to citizens of Uzbekistan, including migrant workers.
It should be reminded that on the territory of the Russian Federation, only two foreign policy missions of Uzbekistan operated for a long time - the embassy of the republic in Moscow and the consulate in Novosibirsk. Then, in March of 2018, the new Consulate General of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg began functioning.
This year, it is planned to open Uzbek Consulates in Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan and Vladivostok.
