Ex-presidential advisor of Kyrgyzstan detained after long search
Ikramjan Ilmiyanov, state advisor to Kyrgyzstan’s former president Almazbek Atambayev, has been detained by the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, AKIpress reported with reference to the SNSC.
Mr. Ilmiyanov’s name was put on wanted list on Friday, Oct. 19.
As per the report of the State National Security Committee, the ex-state advisor departed from Kyrgyzstan in June 2018 and his whereabouts were unknown. SDPK secretariat claimed he was in Moscow this summer.
On Oct. 18, the Pervomaiskiy district court of Bishkek approved Mr. Ilmiyanov’s detention in absentia.
