Tashkent to cease the withdrawal of driving license for violation of traffic rules
Starting from November 1, a new traffic rule will take effect in Tashkent as per the decree of the Minister of Internal Affairs. The personnel of the Department of Traffic Safety will no longer seize driving license for traffic violations, Kun.uz correspondent reports referring to the Interior Ministry data.
This, however, does not include such traffic rule violations as drunk driving (in which case driving license is surely seized).
The new order is associated with the introduction of the billing system for the payment of administrative fines for violating traffic rules in the capital.
In addition, a single database of administrative offenses in the field of road traffic will be launched, which allows to monitor the process of issuing fines and their payment.
From then onwards, inspectors will use a tablet and other mobile devices to check on a single base the number of traffic rule violations by a driver on the spot and act in accordance with the information received.
One of the main innovations is that, now, the information about the fine will be sent to violators via SMS-billing system.
