Delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the 73rd session of the UN GA’s Sixth Committee
On Oct. 22-26, 2018, representatives of the Treaty and Law Department of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry took part in the 73rd session of the UN GA’s Sixth Committee (on legal issues), during which debates were held on the reports of the International Law Commission and the International Court of Justice, the press of the Ministry reported.
During the meeting, the issues of progressive development and codification of the norms of international law, as well as ensuring the rule of law in international relations were discussed.
In particular, special attention was paid to such issues of the agenda as jus cogens (imperative norms of the IL), identification of norms of international customs, diplomatic immunity of state officials, provisional application of treaties, subsequent agreements and subsequent practice regarding the interpretation of treaties and others.
The parties reviewed draft resolutions of the UN GA, the adoption of which is expected in December 2018.
