Gafur Rakhimov to compete with Serik Konakbayev for the post of AIBA President

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has satisfied the appeal of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) vice president Serik Konakbayev, RIA Novosti reported.

The CAS has considered the appeal of Mr. Konakbayev on his not being nominated for the AIBA presidency and made a positive decision. In compliance with the organization’s pronouncement, Serik Konokboyev will run for the presidency of AIBA in Moscow on 2-3 November.

Earlier, Gafur Rakhimov was confirmed as the only candidate for the post of the AIBA President, as his only opponent Serik Konakbayev failed to get enough letters of support.
