Kazakh citizen detained for human trafficking
Law enforcement officials detained a woman who was suspected of human trafficking, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
“On October 27, during operational-search procedures at the “Maysky” Uzbek-Kazakh border checkpoint, Jhuldus U., 28-year-old Kazakh citizen, was detained as she was suspected of a crime involving human trafficking,” the police department reported.
According to the provided operational information, the detainee offered three of Uzbek citizens, 28-year-old Lola (fictitious name), 32-year-old Lobar and 26-year-old Dilbar, a well-paid job in a massage salon in Almaty. Actually, the suspected was recruiting and illegally sending girls to the neighboring republic for sexual exploiting.
A criminal case under Part 2 of Article 135 (human trafficking) of the Criminal code of Uzbekistan was initiated against the detainee. Soon, other victims of the crime, as well as those involved in the commitment of the illegal act will be revealed.
In addition, in the framework of the investigation, the reasons and motives that prompted girls to agree with the suspicious proposal will be established and measures will be taken to provide social-legal assistance to the potential victims of trafficking.
