UN praised the experience of Uzbekistan in resolving territorial disputes
The UN offered to use the experience of Uzbekistan in resolving territorial disputes, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
“On November 1, 2018, an Ambassador-at-Large Ilkhomjon Ne’matov met with the UN Under-Secretary-General, head of the Counter-terrorism directorate, Vladimir Voronkov and the Special representative of the UN Secretary-General, head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, Natalia Gherman,” the press service of the MFA reported.
During the meeting, UN representatives praised the new open and good-neighborly policy of Uzbekistan towards the neighboring countries. It was noted that thanks to the policy of Uzbekistan, a completely new healthy climate and a friendly atmosphere, as well as favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries of the region have been created in Central Asia.
The guests were shortly informed about the progress of the negotiation process on the delimitation and demarcation of the state border of Uzbekistan with the countries of the region.
In the course of the meeting, the matter of spreading positive groundwork on border issues by Uzbekistan was also discussed. In this regard, the UN representatives offered to make a presentation of the experience of Uzbekistan on border issues in the framework of an international organization.
