Tashkent hosts an international seminar to discuss restoration works in Uzbekistan
On November 10, an opening ceremony of the international seminar on “Actual problems of conservation, restoration and renovation works: theory and practice” was held at “Tashkent City Palace”.
Specialists from China, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as representatives of UNESCO residency in Uzbekistan took part in the seminar.
During the seminar, Guan Qiang, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage, Turgut Mehmet, a member of the world-renowned cultural heritage restoration association “Gürsoy Group” and Bilgin Koseoglu, Chief Manager of “Gursoy Group Restorasyon” , Jumamedel Imankulov, Director of “Kyrgyzrestavratsiya” scientific-research planning institute, Andrei Khazbulatov, director of the Kazakh Scientific-Research Institute and other specialists held lectures.
The international seminar was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the state enterprise “Cultural Heritage Renovation” and the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage.
The theoretical part of the international seminar is held in Tashkent on November 10-11, and on November 12, the participants will pay a visit to Khiva to get acquainted with the works of Chinese specialists.
