China’s LinkWise plans cloud infrastructure development in Tashkent
The Tashkent city administration has held talks with representatives from the Chinese technology firm Shanghai LinkWise Data Tech to discuss the implementation of advanced digital solutions across the capital.
The meeting, held on June 18, brought together Wang Xuhui, head of Shanghai LinkWise Data Tech, and Javohir Mahmudov, deputy director of the LinkWise joint venture. The Tashkent administration was represented by Alisher Dustmuhamedov, deputy mayor for the implementation of information technologies, and Eldor Kholmatov, advisor on Chinese affairs.
The discussions focused primarily on accelerating Tashkent’s ongoing digital transformation and maximizing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) applications. A central topic of the dialogue was data consolidation, specifically, gathering urban data into a unified digital environment to streamline analysis, processing, and storage.

Beyond data management, the city administration and LinkWise discussed broader infrastructure initiatives, including the development of cloud infrastructure and the construction of data centers across Uzbekistan.

Significant attention was given to integrating digital tools within the framework of the “Safe City” and “Comfortable Urban Environment” initiatives. The proposed solutions aim to address critical municipal challenges, featuring intelligent traffic flow management, traffic congestion analysis and forecasting, public safety enhancement, environmental monitoring, and optimizing the efficiency of public utilities.
Following the negotiations, both parties agreed to maintain an active dialogue to expand their cooperation, map out prospective joint projects, and support the strategic digital development of Tashkent.
