Uzbekistan plans to spend 57,8 trillion sums on public expenditures in 2019

The Committee on labor and social issues of the Lower House of Parliament discussed the execution of State budget and draft budget for 2019.

At the meeting, it was noted that during the reporting period, 53.4% of total expenses were spent to finance social expenditures from the state budget. These expenditures, relatively to GDP, were 11,8%. 19 trillion sums or almost 65,8% of the funds allocated to the social sphere, were aimed at financing salary payments.

In 2019, 57,8 trillion sums are planned to be spent on social expenses. This will amount to 54% of total funds, which is 34,4% more than the last year.

In the course of discussions, deputies debated the issues of ensuring targeted support for the needy, training and retraining the unemployed, as well as their employment.

As noted, the cost of social benefits, material assistance and compensation for low-income families will amount to 5,2 trillion sums, this is more by 58.5% compared with last year.

For the implementation of measures to increase the number of recipients of material assistance, low-income families and families with children up to 14 years of age will be allocated 643,5 billion sums. This will increase the allocation of benefits from 507,000 families to 621,000 families or by 1,2 times.

The costs of raising the level of employment and the well-being of the population were also top of the agenda of the Committee. The State Employment Fund will allocate 300 billion sums from the state budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan to create additional conditions for the opening of new jobs and stimulate the provision of public employment. As a result of such measures, additional 140,000 people will be provided with employment every month.
