Uzbek Embassy in Israel held a round table to discuss the expansion of Uzbek-Israeli tourism industry
In the first 9 months of 2018, about 8,000 tourists from Israel visited Uzbekistan. It is more by 111% compared to the same period of 2017.
These figures were shared at the round table held by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel. The meeting was devoted to the development of the tourism industry in the countries and expansion of Uzbek-Israeli cooperation in this field.
Head of the Center for Studies of Tourism Joel Mansfield, CEO of the Israeli Association of Travel Agencies Hanny Sobol, journalists and bloggers of popular media resources, travel website “Travelingafeks” and media site “PHOTOUR” got acquainted with the main directions of development of the tourism sector in Uzbekistan, measures taken by the government for increasing the flow of tourists to the country, including the simplification of visa regime, ensuring the safety of tourists, improving the tourism infrastructure.
Last month, some of the Israeli experts visited Tashkent and other cities with a study tour organized by the State Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan. The specialists noted the growing interest in our country as a promising destination for tourists from Israel. The Israeli media also increased the number of relevant publications.
In addition to the unique architectural heritage of the republic, the experts considered hospitality and openness of the Uzbek people, stability and security in the country, visa-free regime for Israeli tourists, dynamically developing transport infrastructure, as well as culinary diversity as the most attractive aspects for Israelis.
During the event, specific proposals were made to further promote the national tourism brand and recognition of Uzbekistan in Israel, strengthening the image of the republic as an attractive place to visit.
