Japan to assist Uzbekistan with improvement of the Internet speed
The Japanese will expand the backbone networks of Uzbekistan on optical channeling technology. Kun.uz correspondent reports with reference to the resolution of the Uzbek Government “On measures to maintain the loan of the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and the commercial banks of Japan”.
In the framework of the document, implementation of the investment project “Expansion of the backbone and multiservice data of transmission network” is envisaged.
“The project considers expansion of the backbone network for Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and digital radio relay equipment,” the report reads.
Total cost of the project is over $ 56 million. The Japanese Bank for International Cooperation and SMBC allocated more than $ 52 million to realize it. The funds will be directed to the purchase of equipment.
