Customs officers revealed an illegal transit operation in Bukhara region

Anti-Smuggling and Customs Control Department at the State Customs Committee held an operational event. In accordance with the operational event, a cargo truck, moving from China to Turkmenistan, has entered into our republic as transit through the border crossing point “Yallama” at Tashkent Region Customs Office. 

According to the preliminary estimates, this truck has been transporting 13 types of consumer goods worth over 1 billion sums. In accordance with the established procedure, the employees of the border customs post "Yallama" directed it to the checkpoint “Olot” at the customs office in Bukhara region.

However, a citizen of the neighboring state B. K., on the way to Bukhara, changed the direct route to Samarkand district. He was awaited there by a citizen S. Yu., his criminal companion.

Thus, according to their criminal scheme, the truck was stopped at one of the poultry farms. Citizen S. Yu. and others exchanged the transporting goods for low price point different products in an arbitrary manner.

Finally, when the vehicle reached the border customs checkpoint “Olot”, the criminals were detained.

The offender S. Yu. had to pay 1 billion sums to cover the financial damages caused by his criminal deeds. 

A criminal case has been initiated against the fact under the article 182 (paragraph 2) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. All materials of the case were sent to investigating bodies.
