State program “Modern school” to be developed in Uzbekistan
A draft decree of the President “On approval of the state program “Modern school” for 2020-2025” was published on the portal of discussion of draft legal acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The project was developed by the Ministry of Public Education.
The document states that by June 1, 2019, the Ministry of Construction and Ministry of Public Education will develop and approve standard designs of modern educational institutions on the basis of international expertise, advanced technology and engineering solutions.
Prior to September 1, 2019, the Ministry of Public Education should prepare a new edition of standards of provision for furniture, modern teaching and laboratory equipment, textbooks and teaching materials, computer and multimedia techniques, video surveillance systems.
According to the document, it is planned to build 126 modern schools in 2020-2024. At the same time, by 2025, 704 schools will be reconstructed.
The constructions of new secondary “Modern Schools” will be funded by the Foundation for the Development of Public Education. Furthermore, grants and loans will be attracted.
From 2020, the construction, reconstruction and equipping of schools will be carried out on the basis of new model projects and standards prepared by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Public Education.
The Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan will discuss the draft law for further improvement. The discussion of the draft document will last until December 15, 2018.
