Pensions to increase and working pensioners to be paid their pensions in full

Pensions in the coming year will considerably increase and a decision will be finally made on paying full pensions to working pensioners, Kun.uz correspondent reports referring to Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s speech at a solemn meeting on the adoption of the Constitution of Uzbekistan.

“One of the most topical issues remains the implementation of the important social right to retirement guaranteed by our Constitution. In particular, starting from 2019, the maximum pension payments will be increased from 8 to 10 minimum wages and the pension will be paid to working pensioners in full” the president said.

Currently, working pensioners are paid a pension in the amount of 50% (with the exception of certain categories of persons). Practically in all countries of the world, this practice does not apply, and all, without exception, pensioners, working and not working, receive a pension in accordance with the worked labor experience in full.

The results of the meetings held in 2017-2018, as well as the analysis of incoming calls, show that the payment of pensions to working pensioners in the amount of 50% contributes to their continued work in the informal sector of the economy.
