Moscow to host ministerial consultations on interaction of the CIS countries in the field of export control and non-proliferation

Representatives of foreign ministries of the CIS intend to discuss recent changes in national export control systems and the situation in multilateral export control mechanisms (missile technology control regime, Wassenaar Arrangement on export control of conventional weapons, dual-use goods and technologies, Nuclear Suppliers Group, Zangger Committee), the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reports.

The meeting also plans to address the issues of UN Security Council Resolution 1540, the Hague Code of Conduct against the Proliferation of Ballistic Missiles, and the initiative to combat the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

In addition, the consultations will cover topics related to the “Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction”, support for the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan to ensure the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program.
