Over 5000 free Wi-Fi points to appear in Tashkent by spring of 2019
Tashkent will be the first city in Central Asia with a citywide network of wireless broadband Internet access. At the moment, 1200 Wi-Fi access points are already functioning in the capital and by the spring of next year, their number will reach to 5000, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
“The end of 2018 was marked by the launch of a wireless access of the Internet network. The “Asia Wireless Group” implemented a large-scale project. The unique Wi-Fi network was created under the brand SOLA. Now residents and guests of Tashkent can use the Internet anytime and anywhere within the coverage zone of the provider”, the press service of the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications noted.
The SOLA system provides two types of access - paid and free. Free access is provided after viewing the commercial ad. Paid tariffs work without traffic restrictions and are distinguished by increased flexibility: subscriber is offered an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly subscription.
