Tashkent Metro expands fleet with arrival of three modern trains
Tashkent Metro has taken delivery of its first three new trains of the year, with another 11 expected to arrive by the end of December as part of an ongoing fleet modernization program.
According to the metro's press service, the new four-car trains arrived at the depot on July 12.
The trains are equipped with heating systems for winter and air conditioning for summer, providing passengers with more comfortable travel conditions throughout the year.
The introduction of the new rolling stock is expected to reduce waiting times between trains, improve the quality of passenger service, and gradually replace older-generation trains currently in operation.
Tashkent Metro plans to receive 11 more trains before the end of 2026. The expanded fleet is expected to increase passenger-carrying capacity and help maintain a more reliable train schedule.
The metro administration announced plans to purchase 56 new railcars, equivalent to 14 four-car trains, in November 2025. Over the previous four years, Tashkent Metro received 41 new trains manufactured by Russia's Metrovagonmash, bringing the total fleet to 75 trains.
