The government of Uzbekistan has approved the regulation on the procedure for providing cars and motor vehicles for short-term rent, Norma reported.

It should be recalled that at the end of July, 2018, Article 565 of the Civil Code was amended, creating an opportunity for legal entities to provide individuals with private cars for short-term rent up to 30 days on the basis of a written contract, without notarial certification.

For the conclusion of the contract the renter provides the proprietor:

- passport;

- driver's license of the person who will drive the vehicle (national or international standard);

- certificate of medical examination (at the discretion of the proprietor);

- confirmation of the security deposit (at the discretion of the proprietor).

In the short-term lease only technically sound, equipped with DVRs and GPS-navigators, as well as the vehicle passed the inspection, are transferred.

When concluding a contract in the described order, it is not only not necessary to notarize it, but also to register it at the State Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The contract stipulates the rights and obligations of the parties, their responsibility, the market value of the rental vehicle, the lease term, the rent amount as well as the terms and conditions for its payment.

The proprietor may require a security deposit at the time of rental. The pledge serves as a guarantee of payment of the damage caused, requiring compensation by the renter. If there are no claims from the proprietor, the amount of the security deposit is returned to the renter after the expiration of the contract.
