President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov, at his year-end press conference, said that Negotiations on construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan are under way not only with the Kyrgyz side, but with others too, Kyrgyz media said.
“There is a progress. Recently, CEO of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov was here. We talked with him. 200 million were allocated, the work is under way. There are a few moments that need to be agreed, after that the construction will begin," he said.
The new railroad linking China with Kyrgyzstan will allow the latter to transport over 12 million tons of cargo a year.
The railroad is expected to bring Kyrgyzstan $150-200 million profit annually in the first stage with further growth in revenues from the transit to $500 million a year.
