As part of the pilot operation, a 40-foot container loaded with palm oil was shipped from the Malaysian port of Port Klang to Dushanbe. The 10,500-kilometer transit route crossed five nations – Malaysia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

The initial leg of the journey involved maritime transport, taking 15 days to reach the Chinese port of Qingdao. From there, the cargo was transferred onto a railway platform and traveled for 17 days, passing through Altynkol on the Kazakh border and transiting via Keles before reaching its final destination at the Dushanbe-2 railway station. The entire journey was completed in 32 days.

According to Uztemiryulkonteyner, this pilot delivery marks a major advancement in building a reliable transport corridor between South-East and Central Asia. The new route is expected to strengthen the region’s transit capabilities and improve the efficiency of international supply chains.

The expansion follows a broader effort by Uztemiryulkonteyner to enhance regional connectivity. In May, the company launched direct rail freight services from China to Afghanistan. That operation involved 50 containers dispatched from multiple stations in Urumqi, which were assembled into a single train before transiting through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to reach the Hairatan station.
