Uzbekistan is working with the Russian Foreign Ministry to return the pavilion at the All-Russia Exhibition Centre (VDNKh) to the republic, the Uzbek Ambassador Botirjon Asadov said on December 26 during talks with the chairman of the committee for Federation Council on economic policy Dmitry Mezentsev.

The ambassador declared that now there is a dialogue with the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation on the return of Uzbekistan to the pavilion 66 at the VDNKh, which was previously assigned to the republic. Mr. Asadov announced that it is intended to carry out restoration work on it and launch the pavilion of Uzbekistan.

In addition, the ambassador noted that during the construction, the architect took into account the Uzbek national traditions and the building turned out to be very beautiful.

For information, this pavilion was erected in 1954 by the project of architect Stefan Polupanov. The main artistic element of the decoration is the motif of a cotton capsule. It is traced in the construction of all elements of the pavilion.

It should be also recalled that in 2013, Uzbekistan abandoned this pavilion.
