Five Uzbek referees were entrusted to serve the Asian Cup matches
Five referees from Uzbekistan were selected to serve the Asian Cup matches, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
Next week the most awaited tournament in the Asian continent – the 2018 Asian Cup starts. It will be held in the United Arab Emirates. A record number of referees will be attending in the upcoming competition. In particular, the games of the Asian Cup will be served by 60 referees – 30 chief arbitrators and 30 assistants from 19 countries.
The following referees were invited from Uzbekistan to the upcoming tournament: Ravshan Irmatov, Valentin Kovalenko and Ilgis Tantashev (all as chief referee), as well as Jakhongir Saidov and Abdukhamidullo Rasulov (as assistant chief referee).
Tomorrow those selected referees will go to the United Arab Emirates. They will continue preparations for the competition in the UAE. FIFA and AFC instructor Farkhod Abdullayev was also invited to the tournament and today he departs for Dubai.
For information, the Asian Cup will be held from January 5 to February 1, 2019. Uzbekistan’s national team will compete in the group "F" together with the teams of Japan, Turkmenistan and Oman. The first match with our team will be held on January 9 against the national team of Oman.
