Ministry of Finance publishes a list of domestic food products, which are exempt from VAT
The Ministry of Finance has published the list of food products produced in Uzbekistan, the turnover for the implementation of which is exempt from value added tax, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
It should be recalled that with recent changes in legislation, Article 208 of the Tax Code has been supplemented with a new VAT exemption. As a result, starting from today Jan. 1, 2019, domestic agricultural and food products as per the list drawn up by the Cabinet of Ministers, are exempt from value added tax.
The list of products exempted from VAT includes:
Meat (beef, lamb, chicken)
A fish
Potatoes
Onion
Eggs
Rice (all varieties)
Sugar
Bakery products
The exemption from value added tax applies for the wholesale and retail sales of food products. At the same time, in the case of bakery products, the benefit is used in the production and sale.
