Deputy Prime Ministers may be deprived of the right to manage a particular agency while they are still in office

The draft State Program “Year of Active Investments and Social Development” envisages radical improvement of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its subordinate divisions.

In the project it is offered to:

- abolish the practice of managing a particular agency by Deputy Prime Ministers (while they are still in the office);

- introduce a procedure of direct communication of documents to the Prime Minister prepared by the ministries and departments in order to increase their personal responsibility;

- prohibit meetings not envisaged by the Cabinet of Ministry’s work plan;

- clearly define the powers of the government in socio-economic, cultural-humanitarian, regional development, as well as in foreign-policy and foreign-economic areas and the boundaries of responsibility of its members;

- develop the mechanism of cooperation of the Cabinet of Ministers with the President, Oliy Majlis, law enforcement bodies and other central offices;

- optimize the system of executive power bodies.

The draft State Program “Year of Active Investments and Social Development” is open for public discussion until January 15, 2019.
