President of the International Union of Judicial Officers to visit Uzbekistan

On January 3, 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belgium Dilyor Khakimov held talks with the President of the International Union of Judicial Officers (UIHJ) Mark Schmitz, the press service of the MFA said.

The UIHJ is a non-governmental organization established to promote, coordinate and develop the activities of bailiffs on an international scale, protect dignity and independence through closer cooperation between relevant professional organizations at the national level. The headquarters of the Union is located in Paris.

In the course of the conversation, the sides exchanged views regarding the expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UIHJ, to which our country became a full member in May 2018.

The President of the UIHJ highly appreciated the course of judicial-legal reforms in Uzbekistan, which were given new impetus in the reports of the head of our state on Constitution Day and in the address to the chambers of Oliy Majlis in December 2018.

The parties noted that in the era of globalization, individual countries are evaluated through the prism of the effectiveness of national legal systems. All this is directly related to the judicial and the jurisdictional system as a whole, including the sphere of enforcement proceedings, since they largely create the legal image of the state, its attractiveness as a place of business.

Following the meeting, Mark Schmitz reaffirmed his readiness to lead the UIHJ delegation at the Tashkent Law Spring international legal forum to be held in the Uzbek capital on April 11-13, 2019.
