State Tax Committee to detect unregistered traders on the Internet and impose tax on them
The State Tax Committee (STC) will begin to identify people illegally selling through the Internet. During a meeting at the Ministry of Finance, the First Deputy Chairman of the STC Mubin Mirzayev confirmed it, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
In the course of the discussion, representatives of governmental bodies and heads of retail networks raised the problem of increasing sales on the Internet by people who did not officially register the business.
According to Mr. Mirzayev, the tax committee is studying this issue and intends to levy taxes on such dealers.
“First of all, we will identify and fixate any business that is carried out through the Internet, including on Facebook and other social networks. We have planned to link the received information with our database in order to collect taxes from sellers. There is the same problem with “Yandex Taxi”. We will also start imposing tax on them,” the deputy chairman of the State Tax Committee said.
Mr. Mirzayev stated that by the end of January, the ministry will decide how and at what rate to tax internet sales. The STC intends to work jointly on this issue with the World Bank specialists.
