Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin to visit Uzbekistan
Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin plans to visit Uzbekistan, Kun.uz correspondent reports citing the Russian Ambassador Vladimir Tyurdenev as saying.
“This is another step in strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries,” the Russian diplomat noted.
According to him, the visit of Uzbek Senate Chairman Nigmatulla Yuldashev to Moscow last November, the conclusion of a new agreement between the upper chambers of both parliaments, participation in the CIS inter-parliamentary assembly — all these show development of inter-parliamentary relations between the parties.
Earlier, Vyacheslav Volodin said Uzbekistan may be granted an observer status at the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
