Tashkent to build a three-level traffic intersection by the end of 2019
Uzbekistan Railways intends to commission a “three-tier” interchange by the end of the year.
On the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country’s first ever three-level traffic intersection is being built at the intersection of Akhangaran and Parkent streets. The development of the project is entrusted to JSC “Boshtransloyiha”, whose specialists have experience in the construction of such facilities.
The construction of a tunnel with a length of 484 m, a width of 26.7 m and a vertical dimension of 5.5 m is planned for the first phase of construction. Each direction of the road will have three lanes and will be equipped with lighting and drainage systems. At the second stage of construction, it is planned to erect a circular overpass, which will be 50 meters in diameter and 1 meter above the ground level.

Furthermore, the restoration of the bridge connecting the Airport-Vostochny and Makhtumkuli streets located in this territory is also planned.
The total length of the three-level overpass will be 618 meters, width 30 meters. The circular track is designed for 6 roads.
Currently, intensive work is underway on the construction of the tunnel. Specialists and workers of the Kuprikkurilish Trust enterprise under the JSC Uzbekistan Railways are involved in this work. By the end of 2019, this facility will be put into operation.
