SCO Security Council Secretaries’ meeting to be held in April 2019
In April 2019, Security Council Secretaries (SCS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states will be convened in Bishkek, Damir Sagynbayev, Security Council Secretary, said.
“SCS are confirming their attendance now. The meeting of experts and representatives of Security Councils of SCO member states will be held in mid-February 2019 in Beijing, where the final date of the meeting of the Security Council Secretaries will be discussed,” Mr. Sagynbayev noted.
The agenda of the SCS meeting includes 17 issues, including trans-boundary crime, counteraction to extremism and terrorism, as well as other SCO related aspects.
“SCO is a big and reputed international organization. The Kyrgyz Republic is undertaking actions to ensure security and safety for all SCO events. The Security Council and the government are working on the respective security plan in connection with that,” the Security Council Secretary said and excluded possibility of any emergency situations.
