Russia plans to introduce a departure tax
A departure tax may be introduced in the Russian Federation.
This initiative was put forward by the Association of Entrepreneurs for the Development of Business Patriotism “AVANTI”.
Businessmen submitted a proposal addressed to the chairmen of the upper and lower houses of the Russian parliament - Valentina Matvienko and Vyacheslav Volodin, as well as to the head of Rostourism Oleg Safonov.
The document, in particular, is about introducing a departure tax in the amount of 500 rubles for Russians and foreign citizens when crossing the state border.
According to the authors of the proposal, the money received can be directed to the development of the country’s tourism sector.
The representatives of the association say in the current international situation, the development of tourism within the country is of particular importance.
The document emphasizes that in order to finance the tourism sector in the next seven years it is planned to allocate 422.2 billion rubles from the state budget. The steps proposed by business representatives will make it possible to additionally receive up to 35 billion rubles, which will assist in the transition of the entire tourism industry to a qualitatively new level.
