French Institute INSHEA eyes to open a branch office in Jizzakh region

The National Institute of Advanced Training and Research for the Education of Young People with Disabilities and Adapted Teaching (INSHEA) is considering the possibility of opening a branch on the basis of one of the universities in the Jizzakh region.

This became known following the negotiations of the representatives of the Uzbek delegation with the director of INSHEA, Jose Puig.

INSHEA assists in the determination and implementation of state policies towards people with disabilities. The institute also develops international cooperation based on partnerships. Currently, work is underway to expand the scope of cooperation, especially in relation to Asian countries.

The head of INSHEA welcomed the initiative of Uzbekistan to turn the country into an “educational hub” in Central Asia. According to the French side, it is time to explore the possibility of opening the INSHEA Defectology and Psychology Faculty on the basis of one of the universities in the Jizzakh region to foster the development of science and the training of specialists in this field.

Puig expressed readiness to sign a Cooperation Agreement with Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute (JSPI) in the near future. Also, representatives of INSHEA informed that the institute is ready to sign similar documents with the pedagogical institutes of Samarkand and Tashkent.

The parties noted that the inked document will enable students of the Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute to receive grants for study in France through the European educational program ERASMUS.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on organizing the visit of the delegation of JSPI to France in February 2019.
