Jizzakh Pedagogical University accused of illegal gas use worth over UZS 3.5 billion
Cases of illegal use of natural gas and electricity worth over UZS 5.5 billion have been detected in two districts of Jizzakh region, the Ministry of Energy reported.
According to the ministry, an inspection at the Zarbdor district branch of Jizzakh Pedagogical University revealed that the gas equipment installed in the building had a capacity exceeding the maximum measurement capacity of the gas meter.
Preliminary estimates indicate that the resulting damage amounted to UZS 3.52 billion.
In another case, the “A.U.B.” family enterprise in Gallaorol district was found to have made an unauthorized connection to the power grid and had been illegally consuming electricity.
As a result of this violation, the electricity supplier sustained losses totaling UZS 2.217 billion.
Law enforcement authorities are currently conducting a pre-investigation review into both incidents.
