Changes may be introduced to the procedure for producing, importing and distributing religious materials
On the portal of discussions of normative-legal projects, a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on introducing amendments and addenda to the Resolution 10 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated Jan. 20, 2014 “On measures to improve the procedure for producing, importing and distributing religious materials” has been placed.
According to the document, Article 4 of the Regulation on the procedure for producing, importing and distributing religious materials – a list of materials with religious content prohibited by the Committee for Religious Affairs in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan may change, now such list can be piled twice a year.
In addition, paragraph 18 may be modified as below (distribution of materials for the following purposes shall not be permitted):
• discrimination based on the sex, race, nationality, language, religion, social origin, convictions, personal or social status, or any other circumstance or discrediting the products of other people;
• encouraging the change of existing constitutional order and territorial integrity of the Republic of Uzbekistan by force;
• promoting the ideas of war, violence, terrorism, extremism, separatism and fanaticism;
• dissemination of information causing national, racial, ethnic or religious hatred;
• encouraging to change religious beliefs;
• insulting or diminishing the religious feelings of believers;
• calling on citizens not to comply with their constitutional obligations;
• encouraging to attack on the property and rights of state, public or religious organizations;
• promoting narcotics, their analogs and psychotropic substances;
• creating confrontation, misunderstanding and contradictions among the population;
• encouraging to behave illicitly which causes criminal or other liability under the law.
