EU grants Uzbekistan €5 million to join the WTO
The European Union has allocated €5 million to Uzbekistan as support for the country's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Trade reports about it.
The EU’s decision was announced during a meeting with the head of the EU delegation in Uzbekistan Eduards Stiprais and head of the technical co-op department of the delegation François Bejo.
The project will be implemented by the International Trade Center (ITC) of the UN Conference on Trade and Development and the WTO.
Taking into account the EU’s procedures for approving projects, the delegation of the European Union confirmed that ITC will begin practical implementation of the project in the near future without waiting for the completion of these procedures.
