The bodies of the Inspectorate for the Control of the Agro-Industrial Complex and Ensuring Food Security under the Prosecutor General’s Office revealed billions of dollars of theft in the water sector.
“During the inspections, it was revealed that the employees of the Republican Association “Uzsuvkurilishtaminot”, “Davsuvmakhsuspudrat” and other water industry enterprises made fake (fictitious) entries,” the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
As a result, property and funds for the total amount of 4 billion 270 million 204 thousand sums were squandered. In addition, illegally, employees of the sphere were paid wages in the amount of 71 million soums.
The ministry reported that according to these facts criminal cases were initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, investigative measures are being taken.
