Want to use Facebook and YouTube without VPN? Then pay for it
In Uzbekistan, one of the Internet providers officially offered its users a service for free access to Facebook and YouTube without VPN.
“In relation to the current situation with YouTube video hosting and social network Facebook, we decided to launch a new service that will significantly simplify our users' access to these resources and eliminate the need to use VPN, low speed and other troubles,” the company said.
Representatives of the company said that the service can be activated in a personal account. It is called “Otkryv@shka” (“Открыв@шка”) and costs 25,000 soums per month.
The company also said that it is only a pilot project for now.
It is worth recalling that in Uzbekistan, Facebook practically does not work since September 4. At that time, the company “Uzbektelekom” said that the data network of the company is being operated normally, that is, they have no relation to the performance of the social network.
At the same time, the First Deputy Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications Olimjon Umarov said that the ministry is working with the national operator and other departments in order to resolve this issue in the near future.
Interestingly, on January 15 this year, websites that were previously accessible only via VPN started operating suddenly. At the same time, in the evening of that same day, all sites became inaccessible again.
Later, it became known that the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help them establish links with the Facebook administration.
