Former Uzbek Ambassador to Russia becomes Deputy Finance Minister
Acting Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekneftegaz Bahrom Ashrafkhanov left his post.
According to the presidential decree, he is appointed Deputy Minister of Finance for social issues.
It should be recalled that he was appointed Acting Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC in September 2018. In 2016-2018, he worked as the ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia.
Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov was born in 1969 in Tashkent. In 1993, he graduated from Tashkent State University of Economics with a degree in International Monetary and Credit Relations. From 1993 to 1994 he studied in the United States.
In 1994-1998, he worked as a representative of AIG Trading Group in Central Asia, and in 1998-2000, he was general manager of the Uzbek-American insurance company UzAIG.
From 2000 to 2002, he served as First Deputy Head of the State Inspectorate for Insurance Supervision of the Ministry of Finance. In 2002-2004, he was the Deputy Minister of Finance - Head of the State Inspectorate for Insurance Supervision of the Ministry of Finance, in 2004-2005 - the Deputy Minister of Finance, and in 2005-2007 - the First Deputy Minister of Finance. From 2007 to 2016, he worked as Treasury Head - Deputy Minister of Finance.
