Tashkent Metro fleet to receive new batch of modernized trains

In 2019, the Tashkent Metro fleet will receive 7 modernized trains (28 units of passenger carriage). One of them is already being tested, the JSC “Uzbekistan Railways” reported.
Modernizing the subway carriages is taking place at the Tashkent plant for construction and repair of passenger wagons.
The plant is the only one of its kind in Central Asia and it is improving its capabilities every year. In particular, development of repair of subway carriages and construction of their new modifications is one of the important projects.
In 2014, the plant received an international certificate for industrial work in this area. Since then, the old subway wagons have undergone a complete overhaul and gained a new design. In the period from 2014 to 2018, the enterprise repaired a total of 14 subway trains, including 56 carriages.
Modernized wagons are produced with the extension of the service life of carriages for 15 years.
