JSC Uzbekneftegaz to deepen investment cooperation with leading Japanese companies
First Deputy Chairman of the JSC Uzbekneftegaz Ulugbek Saidov held talks with an Advisor to the Japanese Embassy in Uzbekistan Atsushi Souda.
It was noted that relations between the two countries are consistently developing in many areas, including in the oil and gas sector. In particular, JSC Uzbekneftegaz established cooperation with the “Mitsui Group”, “Mitsubishi Corporation”, “Marubeni Corporation” and other leading companies of Japan. Regular visits of delegations, ongoing dialogue and exchange of views between the parties allow to identify new facets of a mutually beneficial partnership.
According to Ulugbek Saidov, today deepening of investment cooperation is one of the priorities. The intensification of work with the Japanese Embassy in Uzbekistan will allow to attract Japanese investors for the joint implementation of promising investment projects.
In turn, Atsushi Souda expressed interest in ongoing reforms in the country's fuel and energy sector. During the dialogue, establishment of the Ministry of Energy was noted and information was provided on the planned changes in the oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue and to identify priority areas for cooperation with investors and leading companies of Japan.
