“Cultural bullying”: the prefect beats pupils at a school dormitory in Navoi (video)

Recently, a video has gone viral on social networks where a head boy in the corridor of a school dormitory punches schoolboys.

According to Kun.uz correspondent, the incident occurred on October 14, 2018 in a specialized school of culture of Navoi city.

The video shows that more than a dozen schoolchildren lined up in a row and a young man in turn hits them with his fist.

The teacher said that the “resolution” began after the pupils broke the door. To clarify the circumstances, the head boy decided to punish pupils in such way.

An interesting fact is that an acting director of the school G. Sattorov found out about the incident a week later.

The senior pupil himself admitted the fact of beating.

“Indeed this incident occurred. When the teacher left, I decided to find out who broke the door and gathered pupils into the corridor. I really used force. But then I made my apologies,” the offender said.

Deputy khokim of the Navoi region on youth policy, social development and spiritual-educational work F. Soliyev was also not aware of the incident. He noted that appropriate measures would be taken against the staff.

The head of the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan Mavluda Askarkhodjayeva declared that after reporting about mass beating of schoolchildren, three employees were dismissed.

“The Ministry of Culture is investigating the fact of beating schoolboys. This incident was completely hidden from the ministry. The case has now been transferred to the prosecutor’s office,” she said.

Thanks to the videotape, this incident became known to the public. It is not yet known for sure what was happening all this time in a specialized school. Law enforcement officers are studying all details.
