Kazakhstan bans import of Kyrgyz potato and Uzbek pomegranate
From February 19, 2019, Kazakhstan introduced temporary quarantine phytosanitary measures in the form of a ban on the import of products from the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan noted.
Namely, restrictions are imposed on the import of the following products: potato and potato seeds, apples, persimmon from the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as import of pomegranate from Uzbekistan.
In 2018 and January-February of the current year, when inspecting imported goods into Kazakhstan from the Kyrgyz Republic, 465 facts of violations of quarantine phytosanitary requirements were identified.
From the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, for the last month of the current year, 2 facts of such cases related to delivery of pomegranates were revealed.
